On arrival

Check your gear

Two minutes when your gear arrives protects you for the whole membership. Here is exactly what to do.

1

At the door

Have a box cutter or a pair of scissors by the door before the driver knocks. Our boxes are long, light and recycled, so they take knocks crossing Europe.

Open the box at the door, not once the van has gone. You are entitled to check the contents before you sign. Some drivers will tell you there is no time. Ask anyway, politely and clearly.

Everything intact? Sign as normal. Anything damaged? Sign with reservations. You still keep the gear. A reservation is not a complaint, it is a record, and it is the one thing that lets us claim from the carrier instead of anyone being out of pocket. Collecting in person instead? Skip to step 2.

A reservation only counts if it is specific

Box crushed at one end. Mast dented roughly 10 cm above the base. Front wing cover torn.

2

Photograph every item

Before your first session, photograph every item, including the ones that look perfect. Front and back, in daylight if you can.

That is your condition record, and it is the part that protects you: once gear has been ridden, nobody can separate a mark that arrived in the box from one that happened on the water.

If anything is damaged or missing, photograph that too, along with the box as it arrived from every side, the shipping label, and the note or screen you signed.

Why it matters

Photos taken on arrival are the difference between a carrier claim and a conversation about who caused it.

3

Log what you found

Open Check your gear on arrival in your account and tell us how each item turned up. It takes a couple of minutes.

Mark anything damaged or missing, attach your photos, and we take it from there. If everything arrived fine, say so and attach the photos anyway. That is the record we come back to if a question ever comes up.

Do it before

Your first session on the water.

Sign in to log it

Open Check your gear on arrival from your orders page. You can upload straight from your phone, camera roll or camera.

Transit damage reported on arrival is a carrier matter and costs you nothing. Leave it until after your first session and it stops being one. What FoilCare covers, and what it does not, is set out in the damage policy
