Pack it like this

A 60-second guide to packing your return so it arrives in one piece. We ship in recycled boxes — they're not always pretty, that's intentional (better than landfill). The simplest path: reuse the box we sent you. If you've lost it, grab a cardboard box close to one of our standard sizes (listed below).

Include in the box

  • The exact gear you're returning — front wing, tail wing, mast, fuselage, or whatever the email named
  • Original sleeves or covers (every wing back inside its own case)
  • Hardware (bolts, screws, baseplates) bagged together so nothing rattles loose
  • Use the FoilHive box you received if you still have it. Otherwise, our standard sizes are: 130×20×20 cm (single front wing), 130×30×30 cm (full set), 160×25×25 cm (wide wing), 160×30×30 cm (wide set). Pick the smallest one your gear fits in cleanly.

Step by step

  1. 1 Return everything dry. Wipe salt and sand off every surface and let it air-dry before packing — moisture trapped in a sealed box is what causes corrosion on the bolts and weeping on the carbon.
  2. 2 Slide each wing back into its original case. No case? Wrap each wing in two layers of bubble wrap, leading-edge protected first.
  3. 3 Wrap the mast ends in 5–10 cm of bubble wrap or foam — the leading edges chip easily without it.
  4. 4 Put screws, bolts, and small hardware into a small bag and tape it to the inside of the box so nothing migrates.
  5. 5 Lay everything flat inside the box. Avoid stacking heavy parts on top of wings. Fill any empty space with crumpled paper or extra bubble wrap so nothing shifts in transit.
  6. 6 Tape every seam of the box — top, bottom, and both ends. Couriers find the one weak seam every time.
  7. 7 Stick the prepaid label on the largest flat side, then drop the parcel off at your chosen Sendcloud drop-off point (we email you the picker link with the label).

Leave these out

  • Personal accessories — wetsuit, harness, helmet, leashes — keep those with you
  • Anything wet, sandy, or salty (a quick rinse + air-dry before packing keeps the carbon happy)
