MioBoard

The MioBoard is the board at the centre of the FoilHive pump packs, 92 cm of paulownia built for flat water and dock starts.

What it does

Pump foiling has no wave and no wing to get you going, so the board has to be short enough to swing through a pump cycle and stiff enough to put every bit of that effort into the foil. At 92 cm and 2 kg this one is small and light enough to keep pumping once you are up, without being so small that the first few sessions become a swimming lesson.

Why paulownia

Paulownia is one of the lightest workable timbers, which is what keeps the board at 2 kg without a full carbon layup. It also takes a knock better than a thin carbon shell, and it is repairable, which matters on a board that lives in a rental fleet and gets handled by a lot of different riders.
